Client Challenge
After 10 successful years in business, the owners of Made in Wonderland and the Wonderland Dream Factory decided to call it a day
Approach
Having established that the business had dipped in the last year or two, it was felt that a trade sale was unlikely to achieve the value the shareholders required.
A team of LGBA advisors, each with a different speciality, set about handling a break up which would allow the business to carry on and for the shareholders to exit gracefully.
- Stephen Cowburn concentrated on the key interpersonal relationships necessary to achieve a fair split and to advise on the transfer of staff to the new entities.
- Peter Kroeger focused on the valuations of the two companies and to be a sounding board to allow the shareholders to express concerns and feel that fair value was achieved.
- Chris Ball assisted with the closing of Made in Wonderland and the phoenix into DFUK Creative and to consider the implications of managing the new company.
Outcome
DFUK Creative is now operational and all clients and staff are appropriately engaged and re-housed.
“I wanted to drop you a line and say thanks. All three of you are amazing. I really can’t thank you enough. I hope our paths cross again some time very soon. Your very satisfied client, Joe Pisano, Managing Director, DF UK.”
